Mouse and Rat Control

Have a rodent problem? - Lets take care of it!

Mice are difficult to control.  Whenever you see a mouse running through your kitchen it is never the only one. Mouse colonies can spring up out of nowhere due to how fast mice reproduce. By the time you see one mouse in the house there is likely a rodent colony somewhere in your wall void or attic growing in number.

Mouse Control In House

Most of the time mice don't bother people when they are in their more natural habitat outside. It’s when mice move into the home and start invading the space of humans it becomes a problem. A mouse only needs a hole, crack, or what we call an entry point in the pest control industry the size of a dime to squeeze its little body through. When a mouse gets inside your home and decides to make it a place to stay long term it will secure a good location to nest. This will eventually lead to the mice having babies and will begin the first generation of other mice. After about three weeks more mice will be born and start the cycle over again with half of the pups being female mice, you can see how a single mouse can become a big problem if allowed to stay. The professionals at Organix Pest Control know how to best treat mice and we have developed a mouse control program to be able to eliminate just about any mouse infestation.

How Much Does Mouse Control Cost?

A mouse control service can vary drastically per home. There normally is no one size fits all strategy when it comes to mouse control. We offer free in-home consultations so we can accurately assess the situation. A mouse colony can be big or small depending on how long the mice were allowed to stay in a particular area without being interrupted. We do a thorough inspection to determine exactly what we need to do to keep your home or business mouse free! The national average for a mouse control service can be between $400 to $1,000 depending on the size of the affected property and the severity of the mouse infestation, and whether your home gets a mouse exclusion. Here through Post Falls, Hayden, Liberty Lake, Coeur d'Alene, and Spokane, you can expect to pay anywhere between $350 to $600 in residential areas. Be sure to do your research and only hire reputable companies that offer some sort of rodent warranty.

What are Mice Control Products?

There are many ways to control mouse populations. From mechanical traps to sophisticated mouse control programs, everyone has a different way to try and control mice. Most of the time we come in after a customer has already tried unsuccessfully to get rid of mice. Most big box stores sell mouse control products from poisons to traps. In some cases, you can use standard population control solution effectively and we always say “if it works, keep doing it”

If you are having trouble controlling mice in the Post Falls, Liberty Lake, CDA, Hayden, and Spokane areas and have exhausted all of your options be sure to reach out to us at Organix Pest Control to find out how we can solve your rodent issue. We eliminate mice all of the time!

Do Mice Pose Health Risks?

The short answer is yes, mice can cause health complications. The good part is that it is uncommon for most people to have any health-related issues when dealing with mice. Mice leave messes everywhere they go including fecal matter and other material they use to build their nests so there are sanitary issues that come up when you have an active mouse infestation in your home. Certain mouse species carry the HantaVirus which can be a nasty illness to pick up. Here is a CDC document going over details on what you need to know about the mice that carry the HantaVirus.

How much damage can mice do?

A single mouse won’t be able to do much damage to your home unless it can find and chew through electrical wiring. This can pose in home blackouts at best and can be an extreme fire hazard at worst. Now the chance that a single mouse will end up burning your house down is low. The problem starts when mice decide they want to live in your home and start reproducing. A single mouse may not be the biggest deal but an army of mice is a different story. The longer they stay in your home the more damage is guaranteed to happen and risks of severe problems including fire increases. As mice colonies multiple they tend to leave behind very unsanitary conditions that will need to be remediated. The faster you eliminate a population with a mouse control service the lower the chance that a sanitation service is needed.
